Christians have been charged to adopt the “Do It Yourself” approach in Prayer as against always calling on pastors, prophets, and church leaders when issues that should be managed by them arise.
This call was made by the Founder of The New Seraph, Her Grace Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye JP while in a session hosted by The New Seraph Radio marking the Nigeria’s Independence day.
In her words, Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye reiterated that people need to know that there is a huge power in prayer and its goodness lies in you personally praying your way out not only when there is problem but even when all is well.
In her words, she said that “people have actually made their pastors their gods. Pastors are human beings like you; though anointed but you cannot even tell if the anointing you carry is far more than your pastor’s.”
“Every time you have headache, you call your Pastor, every time you have stomach ache, you call your pastor; Imagine a pastor with thousands of members in the church, and everyone in time of distress calls the pastor here and there; did you ever think pastors too do not have their Life issues and worries?”
She explained further that “calling on Pastors and Prophets for more intercession in Prayers is not a bad idea when you on your own have gone to some extent in praying your way to solving those life issues.”
Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye who also doubles as Founder of TNS Radio, (a media arm of The New Seraph) however urged Christians to be independent enough so as not to always assume that Prayers are answered because they walk up to God through their pastors or prophets.
She noted that many times, people do forget that prayers being answered is not because they attend a particular church, consult a pastor or prophet; all these are are coincidence, because it is written according to John 3:27 that “A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.”
She urged Christians to strive towards having an active communication line with God as this is the best and safest way out of Life worries.
